UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Blue and White men's golf team heads into the third and final round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in a tie for first place with Tennessee on the River Course of the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Charles Huntzinger (Duluth, Ga.) shot a tournament record and career best 6-under 64 to lead all golfers by at least six strokes. Huntzinger's record setting day puts him at 9-under through 36 holes which sets the Penn State and tournament record with a two-round score of 131. His 9-under par showing tops the program's previous two-round score of 136 set four times, the last by Robert Rohanna in the 2008 Marshall Invitational.

Huntzinger's second-round score of 64 is the second-lowest 18-hole score in program history, trailing only a 63 produced by Josh Dawes set at the 2002 Princeton Invitational.

Seniors JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) and Chris Houston (Gilford, N.H.) shot a 71 and 74 respectively to sit tied in 23rd at 5-over a piece. Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) and Geoff Vartelas (Cromwell, Conn.) also find themselves tied in 49th place after shooting a 74 from Miller and 73 from Vartelas. Penn State and TCU are the only teams to have all five golfers placed within the top-50 after 36 holes of play.

The Lions as a team shot a 2-over 287, five strokes better than their day one total, to move up into a tie with Tennessee at 9-over. TCU sits six strokes behind in third place while Loyola (Md.) is alone at fourth, 13 strokes behind first.

Huntzinger leads Paul Barjon from TCU by six strokes and Chad Merzbacher of Tennessee by eight strokes who sit in second and third place, respectively.

Penn State tees off at 9:30 a.m. and will be paired with golfers from Tennessee, TCU, and Loyola (Md.) to finish off the three round tournament.
