"The student-athletes understand when we're recruiting them that there is a high priority on academic success, and I think that's reflected in the consistency we have year after year with academic all-americans, deans list students and our teams overall GPA. It's a goal that we set for our team each year and they do a great job of working hard not only on the field, but in the classroom as well to acheive it."

In total, Penn State had 14 student-athlete award recipients during for the 2015 fall semester.

The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher through the 2015 fall semester.
