UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Following a five-point outing on the road at No. 19 Rutgers last week, Penn State men's lacrosse freshman Grant Ament (Doylestown, Pa.) has earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, as announced by the conference this afternoon.
Ament earns his third career Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor, while Penn State picks up its seventh individual conference weekly honor on the year.
Last weekend, Ament scored two goals on just three shots, while also dishing out a team-high three assists. Registering five points, Ament also notched his eighth consecutive multi-point outing. With a squad-best 28 assists on the year, Ament's averaging 2.00 helpers per game, which ranks 12th nationally and second in the conference standings.
Ament and the rest of the No. 18 Penn State men's lacrosse team (7-6, 1-3) is set to wrap up the 2016 regular season slate at home this weekend, welcoming Michigan (3-9, 0-4) Saturday, April 30. The noon matchup will broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. The Nittany Lions will also pay tribute to the 2016 senior class on senior day with a special pregame ceremony.
