UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" Penn State Nittany Lion sophomore men's tennis player Constant De La Bassetiere will compete at the 2016 U.S. Open Junior Championships this coming weekend. De La Bassetiere's appearance at the U.S. Open caps off a superb summer for the rising Lion sophomore.
The draws for this year's tournament will be announced later this week. De La Bassetiere was a quarterfinalist at the 2016 French Open Junior Championships and reached the round of 16 at Offenbach G1. He was a finalist at Berlin G1 and a quarterfinalist at both Netherlazech Republic G2 and Czech Republic G2. De La Bassetiere was the Romania G3 Champion.
De La Bassetiere posted a 15-5 record in singles action as a freshman last year, including a 4-3 Big Ten mark. All his dual meet appearances were at No. 1, 2 or 3 singles (primarily No. 2). He also collected a 9-7 mark in doubles play.
