UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women's basketball program is looking for an in-arena host/emcee to appear at all 17 Lady Lion homes games during the 2016-2017 season. Applications will be accepted until October 14.
The in-arena host/emcee will assist with all contests and promotions by following an in-depth game script provided by the Marketing Manager. Essential duties include, but are not limited to; Acting as the Lady Lions' in-arena host/emcee, have the ability to project on a microphone in front of large audiences, engaging with fans, assisting in planning and execution of partner promotions, as well as attending game day meetings and on-court rehearsals held prior to all home games.
The ideal candidate will be creative and innovative, as well as having the ability to create a positive energy using both voice and body language.
Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
Additional qualifications include minimum of 1-2 years host/emcee experience, a working knowledge of women's college basketball rules and regulations, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Qualified applicants must be able to stand on feet for 3-4 hours per game, have ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment and adjust quickly to different situations. Applicants must be professional at all times and be able to take direction and feedback. Previous production/broadcast experience is preferred.
Position requires flexible hours and schedule, to work all Lady Lion home games and postseason, if applicable. This position would also be asked to host team events, on an as-needed basis.
