UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Head Coach Missy Doherty and the Penn State women's lacrosse team announced its fall schedule Thursday morning. The scheduled is highlighted by seven contests against NCAA opponents over three tournaments and culminates with an Alumni Game on Friday October 21.
Coming off the team's first Final Four appearance in 17 years the Lions will be tested early with a grueling fall ball schedule as six of the seven teams they play reached the NCAA Tournament last season including a pair of Final Four contenders.
They open the fall at the University of Maryland on October 2nd for a sweet sixteen rematch against Florida at noon before battling 2016 runner-up and Big Ten conference foe Maryland at 1 p.m.
The following week Penn State travels to Loyola (Md.) to face-off against Boston College at 11:35 a.m. and conclude the trip against the host Greyhounds at 12:55 p.m.
The final tournament of the fall will take place in Happy Valley on October 15th as PSU hosts a trio of contests against Syracuse (11 a.m.), Temple (1:40 p.m.) and Cornell (3 p.m.).
The Alumni Game will conclude the fall ball schedule and will take place under the lights on Friday October 21 at 7:30 p.m. from the Penn State Lacrosse Field.
