PENN STATE READY FOR NON-CONFERENCE MATCH AGAINST OWLS
The Penn State men's soccer team is set for a mid-week non-conference match against in-state foe Temple University Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Jeffrey Field. The Nittany Lions and the Owls will take the field Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and the match will be featured on BTN Plus.

NITTANY LIONS AGAINST THE OWLS
Penn State owns a 39-19-8 all-time record against the Owls, however Temple has been adding to its tally in the past few meetings with the Blue and White taking a 2-0 win in the 2015 campaign over the Nittany Lions. Prior to the 2014 season, Penn State and Temple had not met on the pitch since the 1997 but the two teams restored the in-state competition in the 2014 season with both the Blue and White and the Owls earning one victory each in the past two seasons.

BOUNCING BACK AFTER LOSS
Despite a heartbreaking overtime loss to Maryland in its second Big Ten Conference match of the season, Penn State bounced back to earn a 2-1 double overtime victory over Wisconsin, who was undefeated in conference play coming into the match. The Blue and White used an own goal from the Badgers before Austin Maloney scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick.

BRIEF LOOK AT TEMPLE
The Owls bring a 5-3-0 overall record into the mid-week contest against the Nittany Lions, suffering their latest loss to UCONN it its first conference match of the season. The Temple offense has scored a total of 16 goals in its first eight games, nine of which have come from Jorge Gomez Sanchez. Gomez Sanchez has tallied 21 points on the season, adding three assists for the Owls, while Joonas Jokinen has scored three goals and dished out five assists for 11 points.
Alex Cagle has appeared in all eight games and seen 710:17 minutes of action in a total of 726:23 minutes played by the Owls. Cagle has given up seven goals on the season and made 15 saves and had three shutouts for Temple.

MALONEY ON THE EDGE OF ETCHING HIS NAME IN THE RECORDS
Senior Connor Maloney has scored 23 goals in his career thus far donning the Blue and White. If Maloney scores at least six more goals this season, the senior will rank 15th all-time in Penn State career goals with 29. Furthermore, Maloney needs just two more assists to tie for 18th all-time in Penn State laurels.

PENN STATE NOTCHES FOURTH MULTI-GOAL GAME OF 2016
The Nittany Lions have tallied four multi-goal matches in the 2016 season with its most recent 2-1 double overtime victory over Wisconsin. Of its four multi-goal games, three have ended in victory for the Blue and White and it suffered one overtime loss to then-No. 4 Maryland after scoring two goals. If Penn State can manage two more multi-goal games in 2016 it will tie the six it had in the 2015 campaign.

WARMING EARNS 450TH CAREER VICTORY
Head coach Bob Warming notched his 450th career victory as a head coach when the Nittany Lions picked up a 2-1 overtime win over Oakland Sept. 5. Warming ranks second among active Division I coaches in victories just behind South Carolina's Mark Berson who has 484 career wins as a head coach. Furthermore, Warming was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2013 after leading PSU to a pair of league titles. Moreover, Warming leads all Division I active coaches with a 28 combined regular season and conference tournament championships.

BIG TEN NETWORK SCHEDULE
The Nittany Lion men's soccer team will be featured on BTN three times in 2016 starting with the Badgers of Wisconsin Friday, Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m. at Jeffrey Field. Penn State holds a 16-11-3 advantage over Wisconsin after tying 2-2 in double overtime in the 2015 campaign. The Blue and White will open the month of October in Ann Arbor, Mich. when it takes on the Wolverines in a noon match up Sunday, Oct. 2.
Finally, Penn State will return to the friendly confines of Jeffrey Field for a midweek match against Akron. The Nittany Lions and the Zips will square off at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 to close outs its BTN slate.
Along with its three BTN matches, the men's soccer team will be featured on BTN Plus on nine occasions in the 2016 campaign starting with its Labor Day match against Oakland at 7 p.m. before closing out the week at Jeffrey Field Friday, Sept. 9 against Saint Francis. The Nittany Lion's BTN Plus slate continues Tuesday, Sept. 13 when they open the Big Ten Conference season against Ohio State at 7 p.m. at Jeffrey Field before hitting the road for a Sunday, Sept. 18 contest at Maryland. Penn State will return home to take on Temple Tuesday, Sept. 27 in a non-conference contest and head to Indiana Saturday, Sept. 8. The Blue and White will play two-straight home matches against Pittsburgh, Oct. 11, and Michigan State, Oct. 15 and close out its BTN Plus schedule in its final regular season match against Northwestern in Evanston, Ill. Sunday, Oct. 30.

NEXT TIME OUT
Penn State will head to Ann Arbor, Mich. for a noon match with the Wolverine of the University of Michigan Sunday, Oct. 2.
