UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's basketball program will return to Altoona High School for the Blue-White Hoops Showcase beginning at noon Saturday, Oct. 15. Admission is free for all fans.

The event features an open practice for the Nittany Lions, as well as a post-event clinic for the first 150 kids in sixth grade or younger to register. The 2016-17 Nittany Lions will face off in an intra-squad scrimmage as part of the practice with a host of newcomers prepared to make their first appearance in the blue and white.

Parents can reserve a spot for their child(ren) by emailing Loren Crispell (lnc109@psu.edu). They are asked to print out the form linked above and bring to the clinic. Instruction will come from Penn State players, managers and coaches in this FREE clinic.

Fans can park around Altoona High and Junior High Schools and enter through the main fieldhouse entrances beginning at 11:30 a.m.

A number of games and contests are slated for throughout the day, highlighted by opportunities for fans to win prizes during timeouts. Some of these prizes include: tickets, autographed memorabilia and Nike gear. The Nittany Lion will be on hand for photos beginning at 11:30 a.m.

In addition to the FREE post-event clinic for kids, they also will be able to enjoy free popcorn, face-painting, temporary tattoos and playing Pop-A-Shot, all located in the Fieldhouse lobby.

The Nittany Lions begin their 2016-17 campaign Friday, Nov. 4 with an exhibition against Lock Haven, followed by the season opener Friday, Nov. 11 vs. Albany in the Bryce Jordan Center. The home schedule features eight non-conference games, including the Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchup vs. Georgia Tech, and eight Big Ten contests.
