UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; October 17, 2016 ââ'¬" The ITA Regionals came to a close for the Penn State women's tennis team as Katia Blik (Moscow, Russia), the only remaining Nittany Lion in the tournament was defeated by Mercer of Virginia 2-6, 7-5, 6-4.
"Katia showed today and all tournament that she can play with anyone in the Region," said head coach Chris Cagle. "Yesterday she pulled through in two tough three set matches and today she was right there but it just did not go her way. I am proud of the way she is competing and looking forward to her building on this tournament."
Penn State is back in action on Friday, October 28 when they travel to Blacksburg, Va. For the Hokie Invite. The tournament runs from October 28-30.
