NFHCA Poll
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Rallying back from a halftime deficit to defeat Rutgers this past week, Penn State remained the No. 6 team in the nation in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll released Tuesday afternoon.
Penn State (13-2, 5-2 B1G) is coming off a 4-1 win over Big Ten foe Rutgers on the road.
There is a new No. 1 in NCAA field hockey as Duke (14-2) assumed the top role this week receiving 29 first-place votes to move up one spot from last week.
Defending national champion Syracuse (13-2) moved up one spot as well into the No. 2 position receiving five first-place votes.
UConn (16-1) and Maryland (13-3) are tied at the No. 3 spot following a game between the two that saw the Terrapins hand the Huskies their first loss of 2016. Each squad received 721 points and three first-place votes.
North Carolina (13-4) rounds out the top-five receiving two first-place votes, while Penn State remains at the No. 6 spot receiving 617 points.
Penn State hosts Indiana this Friday on Senior Day at 6 p.m. in the final regular season game of the year at Field Hockey Complex.
