UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's soccer team celebrated the careers of its six seniors with its fourth shutout of the 2016 season with a 1-0 non-conference victory over Wright State Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Jeffrey Field.

The Nittany Lions (8-6-2) snapped the Raiders (9-5-2) five-match unbeaten streak and improved its unbeaten streak to five matches with four wins and one tie in the stretch. The two teams played an even match, each taking 13 shots on the night with Penn State having two shots on goal and WSU notching one.

Freshman Pierre Reedy (Kutztown, Pa.) added points to his stat line for the second-straight match after scoring his first collegiate goal in the eighth-minute of the match for the Blue and White. Senior Connor Maloney (Harrisburg, Pa.) tallied his fifth assist of the season with the pass on Reedy's goal to bring his season point total to 19, while senior Robby Sagel (Las Vegas, Nev.) put one shot on goal for Penn State. Redshirt-junior Evan Finney (San Francisco, Calif) recorded his fourth shutout of the season, making one save in 90 minutes of action.

Wright State's lone shot on goal came from Tristan Lyle in the second half of play, while four other Raiders have multi-shot matches that did not reach the net. Will Lukowski and Joel Sundell split time in net for WSU with Lukowski letting in the lone goal of the night and Sundell making a save in the second half.

The Nittany Lions opened up scoring early in the eighth-minute when C. Maloney passed the ball from the right side of the field to Reedy. Reedy took the one-timer from 19-yards out on the left side of the field and put the ball in the lower left half of the net to give Penn State the early 1-0 lead over the Raiders.

The Blue and White outshot Wright State 12-6 at the in the opening half, however, the Raiders blocked a majority of the shots from testing Lukowski.

Penn State found one shot off a header from Sagel in the second half of play but did not put any other shots on net, while Wright State's lone shot came in the second half of play on an easy shot from 25-yards out to Finney.

The Blue and White close out the 2016 regular season Sunday, Oct. 30 when it travels to Evanston, Ill. for a 1 p.m. ET match against the Wildcats of Northwestern.
