ROSEMONT, Ill. - Penn State women's soccer freshman goalkeeper Amanda Dennis (San Diego, Calf.) was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Thursday afternoon. Earlier this season Dennis was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Sept. 27.
In net for the Nittany Lions, Dennis recorded her seventh solo shutout of the season against the Ohio State Buckeyes to help clinch a share of the Nittany Lions' 18th Big Ten regular season title. In the 2-0 victory against the Buckeyes on Oct. 26, Dennis made her lone save of the night during the 86th minute of play.
Dennis and the No. 2 seed Nittany Lions host the No. 7 seed Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the Big Ten Quarterfinals, Sunday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m. at Jeffrey Field.
