- Earning its sixth win of the season, Penn State becomes bowl eligible. The Lions have appeared in 46 bowl games in program history, tied for ninth-highest among FBS schools at the start of the season.

OFFENSE
- Penn State has scored a touchdown on its first drive of the game in two of its last three contests (Maryland).
- Penn State also scored a touchdown on its first drive of the second half. The Nittany Lions have not scored a touchdown on their first drive of each half since 2013 against Wisconsin.
- The Nittany Lions had 511 yards of total offense against the Boilers, marking the second time this season that Penn State has had more than 500 yards of offense. It's the first time since 2013 that the Lions have had multiple 500-yard games (Eastern Michigan, 574; Purdue, 501).
- RB Saquon Barkley set career highs for rushing yards (207) and all-purpose yards (277; 207 rushing, 70 receiving).
- Barkley's 277 all-purpose yards are a Penn State sophomore record and rank 14th in program history. They are also the most all-purpose yards for a Nittany Lion since Larry Johnson had 289 all-purpose yards versus Michigan State in 2002.
- Barkley's 207 rushing yards are the most by a Nittany Lion since Larry Johnson had 279 against Michigan State in 2002.
- Barkley rushed for two touchdowns to bring his season total to 10 rushing scores and 11 overall. He becomes the first Nittany Lion to score 10 touchdowns in a season since Zach Zwinak scored 12 in 2013.
- Barkley registered his 17th career rushing touchdown, which ranks 21st in program history for career rushing scores.
- Barkley's 10 rushing scores this season are tied for 15th on the program's single-season chart with Charlie Pittman (1969), D.J. Dozier (1986), Richie Anderson (1991) and Rodney Kinlaw (2007).
- Barkley's 207 rushing yards give him 1,964 of his career. He trails Franco Harris (2,002 yards) for 18th place on the Penn State career list.
- Barkley posted his eighth career 100-yard rushing game and third of the season. His eight 100-yard rushing games rank tied for 14th in program history with Larry Johnson (2002) and Matt Suhey (1976-79).
- Barkley became the first Nittany Lion to rush for 200 yards in a game twice in the same season since 2002. Johnson had four 200-yard rushing yard games that season.
- Barkley's 81-yard touchdown run was the longest by a Nittany Lion since Bill Belton ran for a 92-yard score against Illinois in 2002, and the 10th longest in program history.
- Barkley's 81-yard score was also the longest run of his career.
- QB Trace McSorley's second-quarter touchdown pass marked the ninth-straight game with a touchdown pass. It is the longest streak since Matt McGloin had a 13-game streak starting with the last game of the 2011 season and ranging for the duration of the 2012 season.
- McSorley's 228 passing yards mark his fifth career 200-yard passing yard game and fifth of the season. He is now tied for 14th with Doug Strang (1982-83) in the Penn State career ledger and ninth in the season ledger, also with Strang (1983).
- McSorley had a career-high three touchdown passes. He previously threw for two scores in three games, most recently against Maryland.
- QB Tommy Stevens made his third appearance of the season and completed his first collegiate pass to Irvin Charles in the fourth quarter.
- Stevens also had a career-long 18-yard rush in the fourth quarter to help set up a Mark Allen touchdown.
- WR DaeSean Hamilton has had a catch in 34 consecutive games. He is chasing Bobby Engram's streak of 36 consecutive contests with a catch.
- WR Chris Godwin's 58 receiving yards give him 1,844 for his career, moving him up to 10th on the Penn State career receiving yards list. He passed current assistant head coach and cornerbacks coach Terry Smith (1988-91) and Jack Curry (1965-67).
- Godwin's second touchdown reception in the third quarter matched a single-game career high set last season against Michigan State (Nov. 28). It was also the last time a Nittany Lion had two touchdown receptions in the same game.
- Godwin moved into 10th place on Penn State's career touchdown receptions lists with 12 career touchdown grabs.
- RB Andre Robinson rushed for two touchdowns, the second and third of the season and his career.
- Robinson's second score came on a career long run of 19 yards.
- RB Miles Sanders caught his first career touchdown reception. The 21-yard catch was the second of Sanders' career.
- RB Mark Allen scored from 1-yard out in the fourth quarter, his first score of the season and second of his career.
- All four Penn State running backs scored in the game. Barkley (2), Robinson (2), Allen (1) all had rushing scores, while Sanders had a receiving TD.
- Penn State had four running backs (Barkley, Robinson, Sanders, Allen) score a touchdown in the same game for the first time since the Florida International game in 2007 when Rodney Kinlaw (1 rushing), Evan Royster (1 rushing), Austin Scott (2 rushing), Dan Lawlor (1 rushing) and Matt Hahn (1 receiving).
- Penn State had five different players (Barkley, Godwin, Robinson, Sanders, Allen) score a touchdown in the same game for the first time since the Illinois game last season (Godwin, Geno Lewis, Christian Hackenberg, Barkley, Allen).
- The Nittany Lions had six drives of less than 2:00 for the first time since 2002 in a 61-7win over Michigan State at Beaver Stadium. Penn State had six drives of less than 2:00 against the Spartans.
DEFENSE
- The Nittany Lions forced four turnovers, which is the most since forcing five against Maryland last season.
- LB Brandon Smith made his second interception of the season and his career. He leads the Nittany Lions in the category this season. He returned the pick 22 yards to set up a McSorley to Godwin touchdown on the first drive of the second half.
- DT Kevin Givens made his first career fumble recovery.
- CB Christian Campbell corralled his second career interception in the fourth quarter. His first pick came against Temple in 2014.
- DE Colin Castagna made his first career tackle.
- The Nittany Lions held Purdue to 46 rushing yards, the fewest for a Big Ten team since Illinois ran for 37 yards last season. This is the second time this season that Penn State has held an opponent under 50 yards rushing (Temple, 38).
SPECIAL TEAMS
- Freshman P Blake Gillikin connected on a 52-yard punt in the first quarter for his sixth punt over 50 yards.
- CB Jordan Smith recovered his first career fumble on a muffed punt in the third quarter.
- K Tyler Davis had a career-high 14 points (8 XP, 2 FG), besting his previous high of 11 set against Minnesota this season.
- Davis is now 41-41 in extra points and 21-22 in field goals for his career.
OTHER
- Penn State is back in action next Saturday, returning home to Beaver Stadium to host Iowa. The game will kick at 7:30 p.m. on BTN.
