UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's basketball program continues its four-game homestand against American on Sunday, Dec. 18 inside of Bryce Jordan Center. The Lady Lions and Eagles will tip at 1 p.m. and the game will air live on the Penn State Sports Network and BTN2go.com.

Scouting American

  • American enters today's contest with a 3-6 overall record, including a 1-2 mark on the road.
  • The Eagles have already played four overtime games in 2016-17, including two straight contests with bonus basketball. Their record in overtime this season is 1-3, with their victory coming vs. George Washington, 66-61, on Dec. 7.
  • The two teams have one common opponent, each playing Georgia State in the San Juan Shootout. Penn State defeated the Panthers, 69-42, while American fell to GSU, 59-58, in overtime.
  • Leading scorer Emily Kinneston tallied 10-plus points in six of her first seven games, but has failed to reach double-digits in each of her last two. She enters the game with a 10.8 scoring average on the year.
  • Cecily Carl is also averaging in double-figures for the Eagles, tallying 10.7 points per contest. She has hit the 10-point mark in each of her last four games, including a 21-point effort at Hofstra in the overtime setback on Dec. 10.
  • Lauren Crisler leads the team with 5.7 rebounds per game, Maria Liddane is the team's assist leader at 4.4 helpers per game and Katie Marenyi paces the squad with 1.7 steals per contest.

Series Notes

  • Sunday's meeting will mark the fourth time that the Lady Lions have matched up with American on the court and the third time they have played them at home.
  • Penn State holds a 3-0 record against the Eagles but have not played them since the 1990 season when the Lady Lions picked up a 93-56 victory on the road against American.
  • Penn State will match up with a member of the Patriot League for the second time this season as it earned an 84-48 victory at Holy Cross, Dec. 7.

  • Lindsey Spann notched her sixth game this season and 49th career game scoring 10-plus points.
  • It is the third game this season and 13th time in her career that Spann notched 20-plus points, hitting exactly 20 points against Pittsburgh.
  • Spann tied current Pittsburgh Director of Operations and former Lady Lion Brianne O'Rourke for No. 9 on the all-time 3-point charts with her 120th career made 3-pointer, going 3-for-4 from beyond the arc.
  • Amari Carter scored a career-high 13 points, marking the second time this season and in her career that she has recorded a double-digit scoring effort.
  • Jaylen Williams had a career day, scoring a career-high nine points and tying her career best with eight rebounds.
  • Teniya Page scored double digits for the ninth time this season with 13 points for the Lady Lions.
  • Page also added seven assists, marking her 21st career game with at least 10 points and four assists.
  • Jaida Travascio-Green hit three 3-pointers in the game, marking the third time in her career she connected on multiple shots from distance.
  • Penn State started a season 5-0 at home for the 20th time in program history, with five of those coming under head coach Coquese Washington.
  • The Lady Lions shot a season-high 52.9 percent from beyond the arc, going 9-for-17 from 3-point range.
  • The Lady Lions have shot 45 percent or better for three-straight games.
  • Penn State recorded a season-high 47 rebounds, with 19 coming on the offensive glass.
