UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -The Bryce Jordan Center is ready for another Big Ten Conference clash, as the Penn State women's basketball program hosts Nebraska on Thursday, Jan. 19. The Lady Lions and Cornhuskers will tip at 7 p.m. and tickets are still available by calling 1-800-NITTANY.

  • The Lady Lions and Cornhuskers are knotted at five wins apiece, with Nebraska winning the last four meetings.
  • Eight of the 10 meetings have come as members of the Big Ten Conference.
  • The first meeting came on Jan. 2, 1993 at Penn State, with the Lady Lions earning an 102-66 victory.
  • Nebraska won both meetings last season, winning 83-78 at the Bryce Jordan Center on Jan. 13, 2016 and 87-69 at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Feb. 2, 2016.

Scouting Nebraska

  • Nebraska enters at 5-13 overall and 1-5 in Big Ten play. The B1G win came last week against Rutgers, 62-58, on Jan. 11.
  • The Huskers are still searching for the first win away from home, owning a 0-7 mark away from Pinnacle Bank Arena. Nebraska is 0-5 in true road games and 0-2 in neutral site contests.
  • Nebraska averaged 22.6 made field goals per game - including 6.7 3-pointers made per game - and are assisting on 65 percent of those makes. The Huskers average 14.9 assists per game, with seven players owning 20-plus helpers on the year.
  • Overall, only one Nebraska player is averaging in double-figures, as sophomore forward Jessica Shepard enters the game averaging a double-double with 18.6 points and 10.3 rebounds in 18 games.
  • In Big Ten play, Shepard is joined by Hannah Whitish in double-digit scoring. Shepard is pouring in 19.8 points per game in conference play and Whitish is averaging 11.3.
  • Nicea Eliely paces in nearly every other statistical category, leading the Huskers with 50 assists, 13 blocked shots and 32 steals. She is second on the team in scoring average with 7.8 points per game in 18 starts.

Last Five Games

  • Penn State owns a 2-3 record in its last five games, including wins over Iowa, 71-58, and Wisconsin, 76-46. All five games are conference tilts, with both wins at home and all three losses on the road.
  • The Lady Lions 3-point pace has slowed down a bit, as the team is hitting just 5.6 shots from distance per game. On the season, the Lady Lions are making 6.6 shots per game from distance.
  • Penn State's turnover margin has improved over the last five games, sitting at +4.0. That was aided by a pair of 20-plus turnover games by both Maryland and Wisconsin, in which Penn State only had 20 combined TOs.
  • Teniya Page and Amari Carter are each averaging in double-figures over the last five games. Page leads the team with 13.8 points, while Carter has added 13.2 points per contest.
  • Carter has also handed out 25 assists to just seven turnovers in that span, adding 4.8 rebounds per contest to her stat line, as well.
  • Peyton Whitted leads the team in rebounding over the last five titls, pulling in 5.5 boards per game contest.

  • Lindsey Spann moved to No. 37 all-time in scoring for the Lady Lions after her 17 points moved her career total to 991 points.
  • Spann's 17 points on the night marked the 10th game of the season and 52nd game of her career scoring in double digits.
  • This was also Spann's 21st career game with three or more 3-pointers.
  • Kaliyah Mitchell surpassed the 600 rebound mark with the first of her game-high nine boards on the evening to bring her career total to 608.
  • Siyeh Frazier hit her first career three pointer in the fourth quarter for the Lady Lions.
  • Teniya Page's 11 points marked her 40th career game scoring double figures, while also scoring at least 10 points in 15-of-17 games this season.
  • Jaida Travascio-Green scored 10 points for her third career double-digit game.
  • Sierra Moore scored 10 points for her 10 double-digit game this season and 32nd of her career.
  • Amari Carter posted her 11th game of the season with at least five assists and two-or-fewer turnovers.
  • Carter tied for game-high with five assists and did not turn the ball over in the game.

  • Spann connected on four 3-pointers, the seventh time she made three-or-more 3-pointers in a game in 2015-16 and the 10th time in her career to that point.
  • Penn State committed a season-low six turnovers, tying for the fewest turnovers in a game in program history.
  • The Lady Lions posted its fourth games of 2015-16 with single-digit turnovers, their most such games since having seven games in single digits during the 2003-04 season.
  • Four different Lady Lions reached double-figures in the scoring column for the 12th time in 2015-16..
