BIG TEN Release
ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Currently ranked No. 2 in the NCAA this season in the 800-meters; Isaiah Harris has been named the Big Ten Men's Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
The sophomore from Lewiston, Maine won the 800-meters at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational with a time of 1:46.65 -- currently the second-fastest time in the country.
Harris powered his way to a Nutter Field House facility record along the way as he recorded the No. 2 time in the nation this season trailing only UTEP's Emmanuel Korir who leads the nation with his time of 1:46.50 set at the Vanderbilt Commodore Invite just last weekend in Nashville, TN.
This is the second indoor track & field weekly award of his career.
The last Penn State Indoor Track Athlete of the Week was Brandon Kidder on Feb. 24, 2016.
The Nittany Lions return home for the Penn State National Open Jan. 27 starting at 4 p.m. with the last event of day one slated for 8:35 p.m. and Jan. 28 starting at 10:30 a.m. and concluding with the Men's 4x400 Meter Relay at 5:40 p.m. at the Ashenfelter III Indoor Track
