UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -The Penn State women's basketball program will honor seniors Sierra Moore, Kaliyah Mitchell and Peyton Whitted prior to its 2 p.m. tipoff vs. Purdue on Saturday, Feb. 11 inside the Bryce Jordan Center. The Lady Lions will look to extend their home-court winning streak to six games vs. the Boilermakers and avenge a loss to Purdue from earlier this season. Tickets are still available by calling 1-800-NITTANY.

Series Notes

  • Saturday afternoon marks the 50th all-time meeting between Penn State and Purdue, with the Boilermakers owning a 30-19 edge in the series. MORE ON PAGE 5
  • Last meeting at the Bryce Jordan Center came in 2015-16, a 88-78 victory in double overtime for Purdue
  • This will be the second meeting of 2016-17, with Purdue claiming a 64-51 decision on Jan. 7 in Mackey Arena.
  • Over the last 10 meetings, Penn State and Purdue have each won five games, with Purdue on a current three-game winning streak.
  • The first meeting came on Dec. 21, 1988 with Purdue winning, 85-61, in Rec Hall.

Scouting Purdue

  • Purdue enters with a 15+-10 overall record and a 6-5 mark in Big Ten play. The Boilermakers are 3-3 over the last six games, with their most recent contest ending in a 72-62 setback to Michigan at home.
  • One key to Purdue's success this season has been limiting fouls. With only seven players seeing action in 10-or-more Big Ten games, the Boilermakers lead the Big Ten and rank No. 15 nationally with only 14.0 fouls per game.
  • The Boilermakers also lead the Big Ten in scoring defense, allowing just 58.6 points per game in 25 games.
  • Senior Ashley Morrissette leads the team in scoring average (15.4), assists (112) and steals (61) in 25 starts. She is shooting 41.6% from the field and 78.3% from the free throw line.
  • Joining Morrissette in double-figure scoring are freshman Dominique Oden (10.7 ppg) and senior Bridget Perry (10.4 ppg).
  • Sophomore forward Dominique McBryde averages a team-best 6.9 rebounds, adding 7.7 points per game.
  • One of the top shot blockers in the country, Ae'Rianna Harris ranks No. 4 in the Big Ten and No. 42 nationally with 46 rejections in 25 games.

  • Penn State is 3-2 overall in the last five games, averaging 74.2 points per contest, while allowing 69.8 points, making the scoring margin plus-4.4 points per game
  • The Lady Lions are plus-4.4 on the boards over the last five games, averaging 42.6 rebounds per game, including 13.4 rebounds on the offensive glass.
  • Penn State has 74 assists, 33 steals and 19 blocked shots over the last five games.
  • Teniya Page is averaging 21.8 points per game over her last five contests - all starts - and has added 22 assists (4.4 apg) and 19 boards (3.8 rpg).

  • Teniya Page scored her 900th career point on a second quarter 3-pointer and ended the night with 918 career points.
  • With her eight assists, Page moved her career total to 218, pushing her up two spots on the career charts into No. 25.
  • Page has converted her last 21 attempts from the free throw line and hasn't missed a free throw since Jan. 23 at Indiana. The last
  • Penn State streak of more than 20-straight made free throws came from Maggie Lucas (35) in 2013-14.
  • Peyton Whitted added her name to the record books as she logged her 600th career rebound to become the 23rd member of Penn State's 600-rebound club. She now has 601 on the season.
  • Jadia Travascio-Green moved into No. 6 on the freshman season 3-point field goals made list, hitting No. 36 and 37 on the season.
  • Travascio-Green passed teammate Lindsey Spann who logged 36 in the 2014-15 season.
  • Amari Carter logged seven assists to move her season total to 109 helper to rank No. 8 on the freshman season assists list.
  • Lindsey Spann added yet another double digit scoring game to her resume with 13 points, marking her 55th career game with 10-plus points.
  • Penn State's bench out-scored Minnesota's reserves, 23-13, to mark the 21st time this season the bench owned the scoring advantage.
  • The Lady Lions turned the ball over just 10 times on the night, their fifth game in 2016-17 with 10-or-fewer turnovers.
  • Penn State shot 90.0% from the free throw line to mark the second time this season they made at least 90% of their shots from the charity stripe.
  • With 20 assists, Penn State posted its third game with at least 20 helper.

Last Meeting - at Purdue 64, Penn State 51 (Jan. 7, 2017)

  • Lindsey Spann led the team with 10 points for her ninth double-figure scoring game of the season and 51st of her career.
  • Spann connected on Penn State's lone 3-pointer in the fourth quarter.
  • Furthermore, with her one assist, Spann was just one shy of producing 200 career assists.
  • Ashanti Thomas scored six points and grabbed seven rebounds, equaling her high marks for Big Ten play.
  • With four rebounds, Kaliyah Mitchell moved into a tie for No. 23 on the career rebounding charts with her 595th career carom. She was tied with Sue Martin, who wore the blue and white from 1977-80.
  • Teniya Page had her nine-game streak in double-figures snapped, scoring six points.
  • The Penn State bench continued to lead the way, outscoring the opposition's reserves 24-6.
  • For the 10th time in 2016-17, Penn State owned the advantage in points in the paint, outscoring Purdue, 32-30 in the paint.
