FENCING HEADS TO THE NOTRE DAME INVITATIONAL THIS WEEKEND

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State fencing team will be heading to the Notre Dame invitational this weekend. The competition will be run by Northwestern University and hosted by Notre Dame.


The Nittany Lions will compete against Air Force Academy, California Institute of Technology, Cleveland State (women's team only), Lawrence University, Notre Dame University, Stanford University, University of California San Diego, University of Incarnate Word, University of North Carolina, and Wayne State University.

Penn State will face two Big Ten opponents Northwestern University (women's team only) and Ohio State University.

Competing for the men are:

Foil: Howie Chan (Walnut, Calif.), Nicolas Graziano (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Julian Fevry (St. Albans, N.Y.), Mohamed Hassan (Saint Louis, MO), Andrey Ostatnigrosh (Fresno, Calif.), Felipe Rosario (Maplewood, N.J.) and Stephen Barnett (Clinton, CT).

Epee: Matthew Mansoor (Cambridge, MA), Patrick August (Las Vega, Nev.), Joshua Cole (Chappaqua, N.Y.), Oskar Tang (Gothenburg, Sweden), Anton Piskovatskov (Houston, Texas) and Clinton Rodell (Annadale, VA).

Sabre: Alejandro Andrade (Quito, Ecuador), Matthew Lewicki (Oakland, N.J.) , Marcel Dolegiewicz (Park Ridge, Ill.) , Jarrett Lewis (Montclair, N.J.) and Gavin Turner (Rehoboth, Mass.).

Competing for the women are:

Foil: Allisa Gozali (Singapore), Tyanne Fong (Ampang, Malaysia), Desree Ortega-Furgeson (Wyoming, Mich.), Jade Rowland (Princeton Junction, N.J.), Li Jiajing (Jiangsu, China) and Stefania Tomich (Chantilly, VA,).

Epee: Anastasia Kalonji (Rennes, France), Nicolette Vigna (Thornwood, N.Y.), Jessie Radanovich (Tollhouse, Calif.), Jessica O'Neill-Lyublinsky (North Salem, N.Y.), Yumin Wang (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) and Alissa Hofman (Cambridge. Mass.).
