UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Lions backed up their first round play with an 11-under round of 277 to push their lead to two strokes at 26-under after the second round of the Seminole Intercollege in Tallahassee, Florida.

For a second consecutive round the Nittany Lions were able to have three starters card a score in the 60s, the only team in the field to do so.

"We played the front nine very well and handled some tough hole locations on the back well enough to keep things going," said head coach Greg Nye. "Having Ryan Dornes get us going today was big. He played fantastic opening up today going four red through six holes."

Junior Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) started off his day with an eagle on the opening hole to pace the way towards a 5-under 67. Miller is the only golfer with multiple eagles in the tournament and currently sits tied a top the leaderboard at 11-under.

Sophomore Charles Huntzinger (Duluth, Ga.) bested his opening round by a stroke to score a 69, placing him in a tie for 10th at 5-under overall. Sophomore Ryan Davis (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) shot even par to sit at 3-under heading into the final round and in 19th place.

Sophomore Ryan Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) shot a second round 69, putting him in a tie for 25th at 2-under. Dornes started his round with four birdies in the first six holes of play. Senior Christian Elliott (Port Perry, Ontario) shot a 78 putting him in 45th, while sophomore JD Hughes (Carlisle, Pa.) shot his second straight even par round and now sits in a tie for 37th.

Florida State sits two strokes behind the Lions on the team leaderboard, while Georgia Tech sits six strokes behind the Blue and White.

Seminole Harry Ellis is currently tied with Miller atop the player leaderboard at 11-under, while five players sit in a tie for third at 7-under.

The Lions will again be paired with Florida State and Georgia Tech for the final round with tee times beginning at 9:50 a.m.
