UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Former Penn State standout Chris Chase has been selected as one of the three men to be inducted in the sixth Hall of Fame class for the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA).
Chase is a 1989 Penn State graduate and four year letter winner for head coach Tom Tait, the first head coach of the Nittany Lion program and a member of the EIVA's first Hall of Fame class.
Chase is firmly cemented in the Penn State laurels having recorded the fourth most kills in a single season (683), sixth-most attacks in a season (1,068), 10th-best hitting percentage in a single season (.486) and the 12th-most total blocks in a single season at 137.
A four time All-EIVA performer, Chase also earned AVCA First-Team honors in 1986, 1987 and 1988 while earning third-team AVCA honors in 1989.
Penn State advanced to the NCAA tournament in '86, '87 and '89 where Chase was named to the All-Tournament team on all three occasions.
Following his collegiate career, Chase signed to play with Switzerland's Leysin Nationaliga.
The new inductees will be honored at the EIVA championships in late April.
