Harris, Rivers Shine on Day One of Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla.
- Day one of the 2017 Florida Relays was a resounding success for the group of Penn State athletes that made the journey to Percy Beard Track on the campus of the University of Florida.

Isaiah Harris made his outdoor season debut in the 800-meters posting the No. 3 time in program history with his time of 1:45.64.

Harris, fresh off an All-American finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships, won the event over Georgetown's Joseph White who was the next closest competitor at 1:46.07.

Freshman Domenic Perretta also competed in the 800-meters running a time of 1:49.51, followed by Jordan Makins who was close behind at 1:50.04.

For the women, Frances Bull competed in the 800-meters running a time of 2:12.59.

In the 1,500-meters, Jaxson Hoey was the top finisher for the Nittany Lions posting a personal best time of 3:56.42 while teammate Bobby Hill finished in 3:57.29 for Penn State.

Rounding out the competition for Penn State at the Florida Relays on Friday was Danae Rivers.

The Freshman All-American from Derby, CT posted a personal best time of 4:16.33 in the 1,500-meters that ranks No. 2 in program history trailing only Marta Klebe's time of 4:15.20 from the 2014 season.

Penn State will return for the final day of the Florida Relays tomorrow afternoon starting at 4:05 p.m. ET with the 4x800-meter relay.
