UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State field hockey team will take part in the 8th Annual Paterno Family Beaver Stadium 5K Run/Walk Sunday, April 23, 2017 benefiting the Pennsylvania Special Olympics.
"The Penn State Field Hockey team has enjoyed supporting the Special Olympics cause for many years," said head coach Charlene Morett-Curtiss.
"Last year the entire team ran the race. It's a fun atmosphere before, during and after the race with many Penn State athletes interacting with the Olympians. We are hoping to raise as much money as we can whether people can participate on race day, or prefer to send in a donation. We love our Pennsylvania Olympians and want to continue our support," Morett-Curtiss continued.
