Why Is Everything So Terrible Today?
It's Terrible Tuesday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park! Fans tweet suggestions for the worst walk-up songs, which will be played during the top-half of innings. Lucky fans out of the stands will also be selected to serve as PA and radio announcers for an inning.

Parking Saturday
With many events on campus Saturday, including the Blue-White Game at Beaver Stadium at 3 p.m. and baseball against Northwestern at 6 p.m., fans interested in the baseball game only are encouraged to arrive before 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to access Lot 44 by heading Northbound on Porter Road and turning into lots south of Beaver Stadium between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. They are also advised to allow plenty of time to get to the field and note that many roads, including Porter Road, will be turned into a one-way exit for football traffic. Gates at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park will open at 4:30 p.m.

Penn State at PNC Park
Penn State baseball has rescheduled its previously postponed contest against West Virginia with a twist, as the game will now be played at PNC Park on Wednesday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
The Pirates are hosting a make-up of the contest originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 22 that was to be played at Penn State's Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, but was postponed due to weather. However, the Nittany Lions will be yielding little in the way of home field advantage, as Medlar Field shares the same field dimensions as PNC Park.
Tickets to the game are available for $10 for the general public, $7 for Penn State and WVU season ticket holders, partners, donors, alumni and faculty as well as Pirates season ticket members, and $2 for students of either university. Tickets will be general admission and are available at Pirates.com/collegebaseball.

Bates at the Start
RHP Schuyler Bates will make his fourth start in as many weeks for the Nittany Lions. In his three previous starts he has posted a 3.63 ERA and 1-2 record, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 14 hits and four walks over 17 1/3 innings with six strikeouts. Bates also started at Pitt (4/4), suffering a hard-luck loss after allowing just two earned runs in a 3-2 loss. He went 6 1/3 innings in that game, allowing the two earned runs and unearned run on five hits without any walks.

Power Bump
Penn State has already surpassed its 2016 season total for home runs with 19 for its most since the 2012 team hit 38. However, 18 of the home runs hit this season have come on the road. Conlin Hughes hit the first Nittany Lion home run at home against Ohio State (4/9). Penn State's 10 home runs in the first 14 games of the season were its most since at least 2002.

All-Time vs. Pitt
Penn State is 87-43-1 all-time against Pittsburgh, claiming 11 of the last 15 meetings. Penn State and Pittsburgh are completing a home-and-home series for a third consecutive year. The Panthers snapped a four-game Penn State winning streak earlier this month at Pitt, winning 3-2. Jordan Bowersox and Christian Helsel hit back-to-back home runs and RHP Schuyler Bates enjoyed a second consecutive successful start, a but an error in the seventh allowed Pittsburgh to score the go-ahead run.

Scouting Pitt
Pitt holds a 15-17 overall record and 7-11 mark in the ACC. Since playing the Nittany Lions, the Panthers were swept by No. 22 Virginia and took one of three from Miami (Fla.). The Panthers have been paced offensively by freshman Alex Amos with a .265 average. Power sources include Nick Banman with four home runs and 21 RBIs, while Caleb Parry has 19 RBIs and a pair of homers. Probable starting LHP Josh Mitchell brings a 1-3 record and 3.89 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 44.0 innings pitched.
