Date Set for 10th Annual Coquese's Drive Golf Outing

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; June 5, 2017 ââ'¬" Ten years ago, head coach Coquese Washington envisioned an event that would allow the Penn State women's basketball program to make a major impact in the local community and on Friday, August 18, Coquese's Drive for the Centre County Women's Resource Center will tee off at the Penn State Blue Course for its 10th anniversary event.

All proceeds from the event are donated to the Centre County Women's Resource Center, with the first nine events raising over $170,000 for the organization.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m., with lunch served in the clubhouse until the noon shotgun start. A silent auction will run throughout the afternoon, with a dinner and prize winner announcements being made following the golf portion of the event in the Penn State Golf Course's Hawbaker Pavilion.

This year, individual golfers can participate for $125 and a foursome is $500 with entries due in by August 4. Your entry fee includes tournament gift, lunch, greens fees, cart and dinner. Tee signs to support the event are also available to purchase for $150. New this season will be the Fast Break Pass, which includes four benefits to each foursome (cost $80); two deduct a stroke holes, a play-up hole and a pass on having head coach Coquese Washington's putt on the 18th green count towards your score.

The 2016 event hosted nearly 100 golfers on the links at Mountain View Country Club and raised nearly $20,000 for the Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) to push the nine-year total over $170,000.

The Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) provides services for people who have experienced Domestic and or Sexual Violence. Counselor/Advocates are available 24 hours a day. There is no cost involved and all services are private. The CCWRC provided services for 1,300 people last year in Centre County.
