RESULTS
LONDON, England - Three Nittany Lions competed in the IAAF Championships Saturday morning at Olympic Stadium with all-three advancing in their respective events.
In the men's shot put, reigning IAAF world champion Joe Kovacs along with former Penn State great Darrell Hill, moved on to the final of the men's shot put.
Kovacs punched his ticket to the final after recording a best of 67'-9.75" (20.67m), while Hill grabbed his spot in tomorrow's final with a best of 69'-3.25" (21.11m).
Both Kovacs and Hill will compete in the finals of the men's shot put that is slated to begin tomorrow night at 8:35 p.m. local time (UTC) and 3:35 p.m. ET.
The other Nittany Lion in action on Saturday was sophomore Isaiah Harris who advanced to the semifinal of the men's 800-meters.
Harris secured his spot in the semifinal of the 800-meters by finishing in an Auto-Q position - top-three in each heat - finishing second in his heat with a time of 1:45.82 that was the eighth-fastest for the night and the second-fastest by an American trailing only Donavan Brazier (1:45.65).
Harris will take to the track tomorrow at 9:35 p.m. local time (UTC) and 4:35 p.m. ET.
Also competing tomorrow will be Penn State volunteer assistant coach Eddie Lovett who is slated to compete in the 110-meter hurdles for the U.S. Virgin Islands at 1:15 local time (UTC) and 8:15 a.m. ET.
