WTN: Nittany Lions Complete Day Two of Season Opening Tournament

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.--Day two of the UPenn Invitational took place in Philadelphia today with a number of Nittany Lions continuing to compete. The tournament finishes up tomorrow Sunday, September 23.

All the Nittany Lions saw action in either singles or doubles. Hanna Wikberg (Stockholm, Sweden) won her match against Madison Stevens of Cornell 6-3, 6-4.

Liyin Xu (Chengdu, China) fell to Irina Protescu of Saint John's University 6-2, 1-6, 10-8. Hannah Kratky (Greenwich, Conn.) had a walkover win yesterday against Kajsa Stegrell of Saint John's University. Today, she fell to Ryshena Providence of Drexel University 6-0, 6-1.

Svarre/Wikberg dropped to Wan/Milstein of Columbia 6-2. Xu/Kratky had a bye yesterday and lost their match today against Owens/Haynes of Richmond University 6-0.

"As we head into the final day of the tournament, we will continue to compete at all four spots," said assistant coach Mike Fenwick. "We will work to end the weekend on a high note."

Play will continue for all players tomorrow in the last day of competition at the University of Pennsylvania.
