UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 10 and third-seeded Penn State women's soccer team (15-4-4) heads to Stanford, Calif., to take on the No. 1 and top-seeded Stanford Cardinal (21-1-0) in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 24. The match is slated for a 5 p.m. (EST) start at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

TICKET INFORMATION
Reserved tickets for Friday's match are $20, while general admission tickets are $15 and $10 for youth (2-17), seniors (62+), and visiting students.
LOOKING AT STANFORD
The No. 1 and top-seeded Stanford Cardinal enter the match against No. 10 and third-seeded Penn State with an overall record of 21-1-0. Stanford is coming off a 1-0 victory over No. 4 seed Florida State.
Among the national team leaders, Stanford ranks near the top in almost every offensive and defensive statistically category.
Heading into the match, Stanford is first in scoring offense (3.73), total goals (82), points per game (11.14), assists per game (3.68), shots on goal per game (11.64), total points (245), shots per game (25.55), and total assists (81).
Stanford is also second in shutout percentage (.773) and is fourth in goals-against average (.318).
Offensively, freshman Catarina Macario, the 2017 Pac-12 Forward of the Year, is second in the nation in assists (12), is fifth in the nation in goals (16), and ranks second in points (44).
In net, Alison Jahansouz and Lauren Rood have split time in net this season with Jahansouz starting 13 of 22 matches.
Jahansouz has started the last four matches and has recorded three shutouts during that span.
On the year, Jahansouz is 12-1-0, has made 26 saves, has a goals-against average of 0.38, has a save percentage of .839, and has 10 solo shutouts to her name.
SERIES HISTORY VS. STANFORD
Friday's match marks the fourth meeting between the two teams with Stanford leading the series, 2-1-0.
In the last meeting between the two teams, then-No. 7 Penn State captured a 2-0 victory at then-No. 2 Stanford on Sept. 11, 2015.
In the match, Frannie Crouse scored in the 10th minute and then Brittany Basinger added to the PSU lead in the 66th minute.
Since Penn State's victory on Sept. 11, 2015, at Stanford, the Cardinal is 34-1-3 at home.
LAST TIME OUT
After going down 1-0 in the 34th minute of play, No. 10 Penn State scored three-straight goals to capture a 3-1 victory over No. 7 West Virginia.
For the Nittany Lion attack, Alina Ortega Jurado, Elizabeth Ball, and Frannie Crouse each scored. During the final minutes of the first half, Ortega Jurado and Ball scored within a five-minute span and then Crouse made it a 3-1 contest in the 55th minute.
In net, Rose Chandler recorded a pair of saves for her 15th victory of the season.
NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The 2017 NCAA Tournament marks Penn State's 23rd-straight appearance.
Penn State sports an all-time record of 50-20-2 in NCAA Tournament matches, including a record of 5-6-0 in the quarterfinal round.
The Nittany Lions have advanced to the College Cup five times (1999, '02, '05, '12, & '15) and won their first NCAA title in 2015.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Seniors Frannie Crouse and Megan Schafer have ascended the Penn State all-time charts during their Nittany Lion careers.
Crouse ranks 12th in points (91), is 10th in goals (37), is 10th in game-winning goals (13), is sixth in shots on goal (110), is tied for 10th in shots attempted (230), and is tied for 25th in assists (17).
Schafer ranks 16th in points (78), is tied for 15th in goals (30), is tied for 14th in game-winning goals (11), is 19th in shots attempted (155), is 13th in shots on goal (67), and is tied for 22nd in assists (18).
Along with Crouse and Schafer, a quartet of Nittany Lions have also etched their names into the PSU record books.
Haleigh Echard has netted 48 shots on goal during her career, which ranks 20th.
Salina Williford is 21st in shots on goal (46) and is 24th in shots attempted (127).
Emily Ogle's 14 goals rank 23rd all-time, is 25th in points (44), and her four penalty kicks made are third-most in program history.
Junior Charlotte Williams is tied for 25th in assists (17), is 12th in shots on goal (71), is 22nd in shots attempted (149), is tied for 26th in goals (12), and is 27th in points (41).
COMING UP CLUTCH
Seniors Frannie Crouse and Megan Schafer have combined for 24 career game-winning goals.
Crouse's 13 game-winning goals rank 10th all-time at PSU, while Schafer's 11 game-winning goals are tied for 14th.
PROLIFIC ATTACK

No. 21 NETS No. 21
Sophomore Laura Freigang netted the 21st hat trick in program history in Penn State's 7-0 win over Stony Brook on Nov. 10.
OH CAPTAINS, MY CAPTAINS
Defenders Elizabeth Ball and Brittany Basinger have been named the captains of the 2017 Penn State women's soccer team.
Heading into her senior year, Ball has played in 72 matches, which includes 71 starts, scored six goals and added one assist.
Basinger will be a redshirt senior in 2017 as she received a redshirt during the 2014 season. Heading into 2017, she has posted 71 starts in 71 games played, netted 14 points on four goals and six assists.
DEPENDABLE DEFENSIVE DUO
Seniors Elizabeth Ball and Brittany Basinger have been a mainstay on the Nittany Lion backline during their time at PSU.
Heading into the Stanford match, Ball ranks fifth all-time at PSU in minutes played (7,791), while Basinger is ninth (6,988).
