Trace McSorley

  • QB Trace McSorley has thrown a touchdown pass in 24 consecutive games, dating to the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl, extending his Penn State record. The streak is the second-longest active streak in the FBS (Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield).
  • With three passing touchdowns, McSorley broke the Penn State career passing touchdowns record, breaking the mark set by Christian Hackenberg (48; 2013-15). McSorley now has 50 career scoring tosses.
  • McSorley became the first player in program history with 50 career passing touchdowns.
  • McSorley's 381 passing yards rank fifth in program history, behind his career-high 384 yards against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game last year.
  • McSorley became the fourth player in program history to surpass 6,000 career passing yards, joining Christian Hackenberg, Zack Mills and Matt McGloin.
  • With three touchdowns responsible for, McSorley tied the Penn State career record. He ties Daryll Clark's mark of 65 touchdowns responsible for from 2006-09.
  • McSorley upped is season passing yardage total to 2,452, which puts him in 11th place on Penn State season list. He jumped seven spots against the Spartans.

  • With three touchdowns responsible for against Michigan State, McSorley upped his season total to 27, which ranks sixth in Penn State history.
  • McSorley finished with 381 passing yards, marking his seventh 200-yard passing performance of the season, which is tied for sixth on Penn State's single season chart with Todd Blackledge in 1982, Michael Robinson in 2005 and Anthony Morelli in 2007.

Saquon Barkley

  • With 63 rushing yards on the day, RB Saquon Barkley moved into second place on Penn State career rushing list with 3,436 yards. He passed Curt Warner (3,398; 1979-82) for the position.
  • Barkley moved into 21st place on Penn State's career receptions list. He is tied with Andrew Quarless (87; 2006-09) for the position.
  • With 1,067 career receiving yards, Barkley moved into 23rd place on Penn State's all-time list. He passed Dan Natale (1,038; 1972-74) and Jimmy Cefalo (1,058; 1974-77) against Michigan State.
  • Barkley completed his second career pass, this one for 20 yards to Mike Gesicki. He is the first Penn State running back to have two completed passes in a season since Nick Scott (2-2, 49 yards) in 2015.

Mike Gesicki

  • TE Mike Gesicki has a catch in 23 consecutive games.
  • With 1,292 career receiving yards, Gesicki moved into 19th place in program history, passing David Daniels (1,222; 1988-90) and Scott Fitzkee (1,263; 1975-78).
  • With eight receptions, Gesicki upped his career total to 110, which is tied for 11th in program history with Bryant Johnson (110; 1999-2002). He moved up four positions with his effort against the Spartans.
  • Gesicki's eight catches are a career high, passing his previous mark of six, which he accomplished twice, most recently against Ohio State last week.
  • Gesicki's 89 receiving yards are a career high, topping his previous high of 88 against Indiana last season.

DaeSean Hamilton

  • With a touchdown in the first quarter, WR DaeSean Hamilton moved into a tie for eighth place on Penn State's career receiving touchdowns list with current assistant coach Terry Smith (15; 1988-91) and Joe Jurevicius (15; 1994-97).
  • Hamilton posted his eighth career 100-yard effort to move into a tie with Bryant Johnson (1999-2002) for eighth place on Penn State's career list. It is his third 100-yard game of the season.

Irvin Charles

  • WR Irvin Charles made his first catch of the season with a 4-yard reception in the second quarter.

DeAndre Thompkins

  • WR DeAndre Thompkins caught his third career touchdown at the end of the third quarter on a 70-yard pass from Trace McSorley.
  • Thompkins' 70-yard catch ties his career long, which was previously set against Maryland in 2016.
  • Thompkins finished with a career-high 102 yards on four catches, marking his first career 100-yard game. His previous personal best was 91 yards against Maryland in 2016.

DEFENSE

Jason Cabinda

  • With four tackles, LB Jason Cabinda upped his career total to 261 tackles, which is tied for 12th in program history with Glenn Carson (261; 20-13).

Yetur Gross-Matos

  • DE Yetur Gross-Matos had his first career sack with a shared takedown (Tyrell Chavis) of Brian Lewerke in the second quarter.
  • Gross-Matos tied his career high with three tackles, equaling his previous high of three against Indiana earlier this season.

Shane Simmons

  • DE Shane Simmons had his first career sack when he dropped Brian Lewerke in the third quarter for a 1-yard loss.

Troy Apke

  • S Troy Apke tied his career high with eight tackles, equaling the mark he set last week against Ohio State.

Koa Farmer

  • LB Koa Farmer tied his career high with eight tackles, equaling the mark he set against Pitt earlier this year.

Kevin Givens

  • DL Kevin Givens tied his career high with four tackles, equaling the mark he set against Michigan earlier this year.

Amani Oruwariye

  • CB Amani Oruwariye grabbed his fourth interception of the season and fifth of his career in the fourth quarter.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Tyler Davis

  • With six points, K Tyler Davis moved into ninth place on Penn State's career scoring list, passing Curtis Enis (230; 1995-97).
  • Davis also moved into ninth place on the career field goals list, tying Nick Gancitano (38; 1981-84) for the position.

Blake Gillikin

  • P Blake Gillikin had one punt downed inside the opponent's 10, marking his 12th of the season and 19th of his career.
