UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women's basketball team opened the game on an 8-0 run and never looked back, taking a decisive 78-46 victory over Manhattan at the Bryce Jordan Center Sunday, Dec. 3.

Penn State scored its most points in any opening frame this season at 26 and held Manhattan to just 22 points in the second half to post the 32-point victory. The margin of victory is the largest since a 36-point win at Holy Cross on Dec. 7, 2017.

For the second game this season, five Lady Lions had double-figure scoring efforts. Sophomore Amari Carter (Washington, D.C.) led Penn State with 16 points and freshman Kamaria McDaniel (Inkster, Mich.) netted 14 points, including two 3-pointers. Sophomores Jaida Travascio-Green (Lisle, Ill.) and Siyeh Frazier (Detroit, Mich.) each chipped in 13 points and junior Jaylen Williams (Easton, Mass.) tallied 12 for her third career double-digit scoring effort.

Junior Teniya Page (Chicago, Ill.) led the way with five assists, which give her 247 for her career and tie her with Sue Martin (1977-80) for No.19 on Penn State's career assist charts. With seven points in the game, Page also moved past Martin (1,135; 1977-80) and Nikki Greene (1,132; 2010-13) for No. 29 on the career scoring list.

For the second-straight game, Penn State forced 20-or-more turnovers pressuring Manhattan into 21 miscues and marking the fourth time in the 2017-18 season the Blue and White forced 20-or-more turnovers in a game. The Lady Lions scored 27 points off of Manhattan turnovers and added 18 fast break points on the afternoon.

Senior Taylor Williams led the Jaspers with 10 points including two 3-pointers and eight rebounds. Kayla Grimme added eight points for her team and the Manhattan bench contributed 20 points to the Jasper's score line.

One minute into the first quarter, Penn State went on an 8-0 run and held onto the lead for the entire game against Manhattan. The team scored a season-best 26 points in the opening quarter.

First Quarter
Carter won the tip and opened the scoring for the Lady Lions just 15-seconds into the game with a pull-up jumper on the right side of the floor to spark an 8-0 run to open the game. Penn State and Manhattan buckets, but the Lady Lions built a 15-point lead after the first 10 minutes of play. Frazier led the scoring for the Blue and White with six of Penn State's season-high 26 points in an opening frame.

Second Quarter
McDaniel and Carter contributed to the team's efforts early with back-to-back 3-pointers and Penn State continued its scoring, building a 40-17 lead with 5:21 to play in the half. The Jaspers scored the final six points of the half and the teams headed to the break with Penn State leading by 16.

Third Quarter
Penn State came out of the locker room with five-straight points and both teams continued to score up and down the court throughout the quarter. Manhattan notched 13 points in the quarter, but Penn State was able to extend its lead thanks to 61 percent shooting (8-of-13) in the frame. The Lady Lions expanded their lead to 62-37 going into the final quarter of play.

Fourth Quarter
The Lady Lions held the Jaspers scoreless for the final three minutes, allowing the Blue and White to take a 78-46 victory and improve to 5-0 at home.
