ROSEMONT, Ill. - Following the opening weekend of track & field for Penn State in Happy Valley, Colin Abert and Bryce Williams have been named the Big Ten Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
Junior Colin Abert raced his way to a Nittany Lion Challenge Meet record with his performance in the Mile Saturday night at the Ashenfelter III Indoor Track. Abert crossed the line in 4:02.50 setting a new PR, meet record in the process while also registering the No. 1 mark in the NCAA in the event this season.
Junior Bryce Williams used his second jump of the season to set a new school record as well as record the No. 1 mark in the NCAA this season in the triple jump leaping to a mark of (53'-3.50") at the Nittany Lion Challenge.
The Nittany Lions travel to compete in the Clemson Invitational hosted by Clemson University, Jan. 19-20.

- Collects his first Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor
