MINNEAPOLIS -- After a high-scoring first quarter by Minnesota, the Penn State women's basketball team was unable to unable to make up any ground in a 101-68 loss inside Williams Arena on Sunday (Feb. 11) afternoon.
The Golden Gophers (19-6, 8-4 B1G) jumped out to a 33-18 advantage after the first 10 minutes and the Lady Lions (14-12, 5-8 B1G) wouldn't get any closer than 15 points the rest of the way in their fourth-straight road loss. Minnesota shot 50.7 percent from the field in the game, while Penn State hit 35.1 percent of its shots from the floor.
Junior Teniya Page (Chicago, Ill.) moved up two spots in the career scoring list with a 22-point effort against the Gophers. She ended the afternoon with 1,474 career tallies to sit No. 14 on the Penn State scoring charts, passing Katina Mack (1,463; 1992, 94-96) and Jess Stromm (1,466; 2002-05) in the game.
The double-figure scoring effort for Page marked her 11th-straight game with 10-or-more points, giving her 72 such efforts in her career. She reached the 20-point mark for the 30th time in her career, including nine this season.
Page added four assists to move her career total to 302, making her the 15th Lady Lion in program history to move past the 300-assist mark for a career. She also had three steals and two rebounds.
Junior Amari Carter (Washington, D.C.) tallied 12 points, four assists and two steals to extend her total to a B1G-leading 69 on the year. The 69 steals are tied for No. 33 on the single-season charts with Alex Bentley (2010-11)
Sophomore Siyeh Frazier (Detroit, Mich.) notched 10 points in the game to give her 10 double-digit scoring games this season and 12 for her career.
For Minnesota, five student-athletes reached double-figures, including a game-high 25 points for Gadiva Hubbard, who connected on 10-of-13 shots, including a 5-of-5 effort from 3-point range. Kenisha Bell handed out 10 assists to go along with 15 points, while Destiny Pitts (17 points), Carlie Wagner (11 points) and Jasmine Brunson (11 points) each finished in double-digits, as well.

After Penn State trimmed the Minnesota lead from 10 points (12-2) to just five (14-9) with 4:26 to play, a Kenisha Bell 3-pointer sparked a 19-9 scoring run to close the quarter and give the Golden Gophers a 15-point lead heading into the first break. Penn State wouldn't get any closer the rest of the way.

First Quarter
Minnesota got its offense working quickly, as the Gophers opened up a 12-2 lead over the first three minutes, largely in thanks to eight points from Hubbard. A 3-pointer from Page, followed by four-straight points from Carter pulled Penn State back within five points, 14-9, with 4:26 to play. The Gophers answered the 7-2 Lady Lion spurt with a 10-3 scoring run by closing the quarter on a 19-9 advantage to take a 15-point lead into the first break. The 33 points scored by Minnesota are the most allowed in any quarter by Penn State this season.

Second Quarter
An eigrht-point second quarter didn't help the Lady Lions get back into the game, as Minnesota continued to click offensively. The Gophers were able to extend their lead thanks to timely makes from the field and a 6-of-9 effort from the free throw line. The Lady Lions connected on just four field goals. Minnesota's 55 first-quarter points were the most allowed by Penn State in a half (first or second) this season.

Third Quarter
Minnesota came out of the locker room and pushed its lead to 36 points, 62-26, with a 7-0 as Penn State called a timeout with 7:14 to play in the frame. Page ended the scoreless drought with a jumper, but the Gophers continued to hit shots and ran the lead to 41 points, 73-32, with 3:17 to play in the quarter. Penn State trimmed the lead a bit, closing the half on a 10-5 spurt, including five from Page, three from Jaida Travascio-Green (Lisle, Ill.) and two from Carter.

Fourth Quarter
Penn State held the scoring edge in the final quarter, owning a 26-23 edge for its second-highest scoring fourth quarter of the season. Seven different Lady Lions scored in the frame, including six from Carter and four from Frazier and Alisia Smith (Lansing, Mich.).
