WLAX To Play at least 5 Games on BTN in 2018

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The 12th-ranked Penn State women's lacrosse team will play five nationally televised games this season on the Big Ten Network as announced by the league office Thursday morning.

The Nittany Lions were already scheduled to appear on BTN when they host Johns Hopkins on Thursday, March 22 and when they travel to Maryland on Thursday, April 19, but following the new announcement three additional home contests have been added to the broadcast schedule.

"We are so excited to have our team featured on the Big Ten Network multiple times this season," commented head coach Missy Doherty. "Women's lacrosse is growing like wildfire across the country, and is an extremely entertaining sport to watch. Thankfully, the Big Ten Network is providing us the opportunity to share our sport across the country, and we are looking forward to some phenomenal games on TV in 2018."

Penn State's first televised contest will come against Drexel on Wednesday March 14 at 4 p.m. The following Monday the Nittany Lions' 2017 NCAA Quarterfinal rematch against Princeton will be broadcast on BTN at 4 p.m. and three days later marks the game against Hopkins at 7 p.m.

The game at Maryland is also a primetime affair at 7 p.m. on April 19 and Penn State will conclude its 2018 regular season against Michigan on Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. in a game to be broadcast live on BTN.

The Big Ten Network will also be broadcasting the men's game earlier that day also against Michigan at 11 a.m. as both teams will be celebrating senior day on April 28th.

The Big Ten Network will also once again be broadcasting the Big Ten Tournament live from Ann Arbor, Michigan on Friday, May 4 with semifinal action and the championship on Sunday, May 6.

The Nittany Lions are currently 0-1 this season after dropping their season opener last Saturday at Towson. Penn State travels to Lehigh on Saturday at 1 p.m. looking for the first win of the 2018 slate.
