UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - No. 7 Penn State swept past Charleston (WV) 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-15) Saturday night in Rec Hall.

The win improved Penn State to 9-3 on the season and 4-1 in EIVA play.

Penn State throttled the offense of the Golden Eagles holding Charleston (WV) to set hitting percentages of .217, .238, and 0.80, respectively.

The Nittany Lions never trailed in the match, taking the opening point of each set. Penn State moved to 5-0 all-time vs. Charleston (WV) dating back to the first match against the Golden Eagles in spring of 2016 when they joined the conference.

Albrecht led the offense with eight kills in addition to three service aces, two digs, and two blocks.

Penrose, the Mike Anderson Player of the Game, led the team with five service aces as well as adding six kills, two digs, and three blocks.

Penn State will hit the road for two weeks as the Nittany Lions wrap up the first rotation through the EIVA with matches at NJIT and Princeton as well as travel to the big island to take on non-conference opponents BYU, Hawai'i, and Lewis.
