MGOLF Sits in Sixth After Shortened Day One

Round 1 Results Bluffton, S.C. - The Penn State men's golf team moved to sixth place on Monday at the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C., before running into darkness in the latter parts of round two.

At the conclusion of round one, the Nittany Lions were in a tie for seventh with a 15-over 303.

Senior Cole Miller (Tripoli, Pa.) led the way with a 2-over 74 to sit in a tie for 12th individually. Three of Penn State's five competitors were in the top-30 in the field.

Sophomore Alec Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.), playing as an individual, birdied three of his final four holes to card a career-low 2-under 70 that put him in a tie for first place.

When round two was suspended, Miller and Bard were a part of a five-way tie for fourth place individually at 3-over. As a team, the Nittany Lions are 34-over with each player having approximately five more holes to play in round two.

Round two will resume from the Colleton River Club at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday with round three immediately following. Live scoring for the remainder of the tournament is available here.

Iowa State held the lead after round one and have held on, sitting at 14-over in round two.
