UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Senior Katie O'Donnell (West Chester, Pa.) and sophomore Maria Auth (Street, Md.) each registered three goals on the afternoon, but it wasn't enough as No. 18 Penn State dropped a non-conference contest to No. 16 Princeton, 13-12, at Panzer Stadium.

Junior classmates Madison Carter (Davidsonville, Md.) and Kayla Brisolari (Crofton, Md.) each added a pair of goals while freshmen Sophia Triandafils (Wading River, N.Y.) and Quinn Nicolai (Moorestown, N.J.) scored one each.

O'Donnell and Brisolari each caused a game-high three turnovers while O'Donnell led Penn State with four groundballs. Carter also added a career-high 15 draw controls on the afternoon.

Penn State (6-4) opened the scoring using a 4-0 over the first 7:42 of the contest as Auth registered the first goal of the game on the opening possession just 58 seconds in while O'Donnell capped off the scoring spurt with her first of the game.

Kyla Sears ended the Nittany Lion run as she fired home her first of the game at the 17:51 mark of the opening half for the 4-1 score. Brisolari and Auth then added back-to-back tallies for the hosts at 16:09 and 12:48, respectively, for the 6-1 lead ending the afternoon for Tiger starting goalkeeper Mary-Kate McDonough.

The change in cage switched the momentum as Princeton (4-2) used a 4-1 lead over the final 12 minutes of the first half to climb back into the game heading into the break. Ellie McNulty collected a pair of goals during the run.

Coming out of the intermission O'Donnell ripped home her second of the game at the 28:32 mark, but the Tigers scored the next five goals to grab the 10-9 lead at the 18:51 mark after Elizabeth George finished off a feed from Julia Haney.

O'Donnell ripped a free-position shot to tie the contest back at 10-10, but Sears tilted the score back in favor of the visitors on the ensuing possession at 17:38. Nicolai tied the contest again for Penn State at 15:05, but back-to-back goals from George over a five minute span gave Princeton the two-goal edge and a late goal from Brisolari was not enough as the Tigers held on for the 13-12 victory.

Sam Fish stopped 11 shots after relieving McDonough and secured her first victory to improve to 1-0 on the season while freshman Lucy Lowe (Cockeysville, Md.) falls to 4-4 after making eight saves in the setback.

Penn State remains home as they welcome Johns Hopkins to Happy Valley on Thursday night for a 7 p.m. Big Ten Conference tilt.
