UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" For the second time in her career, Penn State women's basketball student-athlete Teniya Page (Chicago) has earned postseason accolades from the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC). The junior garnered second-team All-ECAC following another productive season on the court for the Lady Lions, helping the team advance to the national postseason for the second-straight year.
Page adds the second team nod in 2018 to her first-team All-ECAC selection from a year ago. Along with the ECAC recognition, the junior also earned her third-career All-B1G honor in 2018 with selections to the first team (coaches) and second team (media), after earning All-Big Ten second team as a rookie and consensus first-team All-B1G as a sophomore.
The 11th Penn Stater to earn multiple nods to the All-Big Ten first team, Page ranks No 12 on the Penn State career scoring charts with 1,589 points, a total that sits No. 75 among active Division I scorers and 20th among the junior class. Her career average of 17.9 points per game sits tied for No. 13 among active student-athletes and is No. 4 on Penn State's all-time list.
This season, Page produced 24 double-figure scoring games ââ'¬" including 17-straight to end the season ââ'¬" and reached the 20-point mark on 10 occasions. Of the 10 20-point games, Page poured in 34 points against Rutgers on Jan. 18 and set a Penn State Big Ten Tournament record with 38 tallies vs. Illinois on Feb. 28 in Indianapolis.
Her final stat line for the season included 498 points, 98 rebounds, 78 assists and 43 steals. She led the team in scoring for the fourth-straight season and was second on the squad in assists. She produced nine games in 2017-18 with 10-plus points and 4-or-more assists, and accounted for at least 40 percent of Penn State's total offense (points scored + points assists on) on 10 occasions.
