Florida Relays Results

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Penn State track & field program saw the men's 4x100-meter relay improve its No. 3 time in school history Saturday at the 2018 Florida Relays at the Percy Beard Track.

With a small contingent of Nittany Lions competing on Saturday, the day was highlighted by the quartet of Xavier Smith (Douglassville, Pa.), Anton Porter (Bronx, N.Y.), Terrance Laird (Coatesville, Pa.) and Malik Moffett (Erie, Pa.) clocking in at 39.69, which is an improvement from 39.77 set last weekend at Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge in Tempe, Arizona. In the event standings, Penn State finished as the third-best collegiate team and seventh overall.

In the opener in their respective events, David Lucas (Lititz, Pa.) went 185 feet, 5 inches to place sixth in the invite section of the men's discus throw and Morgan Shigo (Blandon, Pa.) threw 52-6.75 to finish fifth in the open section of the men's shot put.

Penn State track & field will be back in action on April 7 at the Battle on the Bayou in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, hosted by Louisiana State University.
