MTN: No. 48 Lions Host Two B1G Teams

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 48 Penn State men's tennis team will host Big Ten opponents Nebraska and Iowa, this coming weekend. The Lions will take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers Saturday, April 7 at 12:00 p.m. and the Iowa Hawkeyes Sunday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m.

The No. 48 Nittany Lions (11-9, 1-4 B1G) are coming off two tough losses to then No. 50 Wisconsin and then No. 33 Minnesota. These will be the sixth and seventh Big Ten matches for the team. The Lions first Big Ten win came against Michigan State, 5-1, on March 18.

Nebraska (9-8, 0-5 B1G) lost a tough match against No. 8 Illinois, 6-1, the last time they took the court. The Cornhuskers have one ranked doubles pair. Linus Erhart and Toby Boyer are ranked No. 81 by the ITA poll. Penn State is 4-1 all-time against the Cornhuskers.

Iowa (12-10, 2-3 B1G) will compete in a double header Friday, April 6 against Dayton and No. 2 Ohio State before taking on the Nittany Lions Sunday. Iowa has two ranked doubles teams. The doubles duo of Will Davies and Piotr Smietana is ranked No. 62. The pair of Kareem Allaf and Jonas Larsen is ranked No. 51.

Next time out, the Nittany Lions will once again host two Big Ten teams. The Lions face Northwestern Friday, April 13 at 4:00 p.m. and No. 8 Illinois Sunday, April 15 at 12:00 p.m.
