UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team will host its home event, the Rutherford Intercollegiate, Saturday-Sunday, April 14-15, at the Penn State Golf Courses in State College, Pennsylvania. This is the 42nd playing of the event which is named in honor of R.B. "Pop" Rutherford Sr, known as the "father of Penn State golf."

The 54-hole event will feature 36 holes of play on Saturday and a final 18 holes on Sunday on the 7,219-yard, par 71 Blue Course at the Penn State Golf Courses. Saturday's continuous play of rounds one and two will begin with the first tee time at 7:30 a.m. off hole one.

The twelve teams that are making their way to compete with the Nittany Lions in the event are Binghamton, Cleveland State, Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Dayton, Georgetown, Loyola, Oakland, Rutgers, Seton Hall and West Virginia.

All 10 Penn State student-athletes will be competing for the Blue and White with two making their collegiate debuts.

Representing the Nittany Lions will be senior Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) and juniors Charles Huntzinger (Duluth, Ga.), JD Hughes (Carlisle, Pa.). Rounding out the lineup will be sophomores Ryan Davis (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) and Alec Bard (New Hartford, N.Y.).

Playing as individuals will be juniors Connor Raeman (Canandaigua, N.Y.) and Ryan Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) and freshman Daniel Martinez (Austin, Texas). Freshmen Lukas Clark (Holland, Pa.) and James McHugh (Rye, N.Y.) will be making their first appearances for Penn State.

Last year, the Nittany Lions mounted a 12-stroke comeback to claim a share of the team title with Georgetown. The top finisher returning from last year is Georgetown's Sam Madsen who finished in second individually at 1-under.

Free coffee and donuts will be available for all fans in attendance on Saturday, April 14 from 7-9 a.m. and spectators will have the opportunity to enter a gift card giveaway.
