Nittany Lions Place 17 on CHA All-Academic Team

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Penn State women's hockey team placed 17 student-athletes on the 2017-18 College Hockey America (CHA) All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, June 26. Individually, sophomore Katie McMillan (Minnetonka, Minn.) was named a CHA Student-Athlete of the Year honoree.

Each CHA team had double-digit representatives on the All-Academic Team with Robert Morris leading the way with 20. Mercyhurst and Penn State each had 17 representatives, Syracuse had 16, RIT had 14, and Lindenwood had 13.

To qualify for the CHA All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must post a 3.0 GPA or better in all academic semesters in which her team was actively competing. The CHA Student-Athlete of the Year honor is awarded to the student-athlete(s) with the highest GPA in the conference following the academic year, which was a 4.0 in 2017-18.
