NEW ORLEANS - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its list of All-Academic individual and team award winners for the 2018 track & field season on Thursday, July 26. Twenty Nittany Lions were named All-Academic along with the women's track & field team receiving All-Academic team honors.
The Penn State men were represented by Michael Biddle, Dan Chisena, Luke Grodeska, Jordan Makins, Mark Porter, and Jon Yohman.
On the women's side, Tessa Barrett, Rosemary Campbell, Rachael DeCecco, Maddie Holmberg, Jillian Hunsberger, Greta Lindsley, Megan McCloskey, Hannah Mulhern, Kathryn Munks, Danae Rivers, Marissa Sheva, Steph Sievers, Madison Smith, and Victoria Tachinski were named All-Academic.
The Penn State women's track & field team recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.35.
To qualify as an All-Academic individual, student-athletes must complete the academic year with a GPA of at least 3.25 and have finished the indoor regular season ranked nationally among the top 96 (individually) or 48 (relay) or have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships. To qualify as an All-Academic team, a program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.
