Chuck Losey joined the Penn State staff as Assistant Director of Performance Enhancement in January 2014. Prior to his arrival in State College, Losey spent three years serving in the same role at his alma mater, Vanderbilt University. Losey joined Director of Performance Enhancement Coach, Dwight Galt at Vanderbilt in December, 2011. Prior to Vanderbilt, Losey served as Tennessee State University's Director of Speed, Strength and Conditioning for six years (2010-2004). While at TSU, Losey managed all aspects of program design and implementation for 11 men's and women's collegiate sports. Over the course of his coaching career Losey has trained numerous NFL Draft selections, including first-day selections: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Jordan Matthews and Casey Hayward.
Losey graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development. Following graduation, Losey entered the Strength and Conditioning field and holds certifications as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (S.C.C.C) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association. In addition to his C.S.C.S & S.C.C.C certifications, Coach Losey also holds a Sports Performance Coach status with the United States Weightlifting Federation.
Losey is a former Vanderbilt student-athlete, where he started 31 games at defensive end and was a four-year letter winner with the Commodores from 1998 to 2002. Losey was voted Vanderbilt's MVP at Defensive Lineman as a senior in '02 and is also noted for winning Vanderbilt's first Iron Man competition in the Overall Lineman category.
Losey is a native of Hixson, Tennessee where he attended Soddy Daisy High School. He is married to the former Lauren Price, who was a Vanderbilt track standout. In July, 2013 the Losey's celebrated the birth of their first child, Vera.
