#6 Women's Volleyball Goes 3-0 at the Penn State Classic

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 6 Penn State women's volleyball finished the Penn State Classic with a 3-0 record after a 3-0; 25-15, 25-21, 25-11, win over the United States Naval Academy on Saturday evening in Rec Hall.

The Penn State Classic Most Valuable Player Taylor Leath finished the night with a match-high 15 kills, hitting .387, adding eight digs, and a block. Her fellow outside Nia Reed added 13 kills on a clip of .414, while chipping two digs and a block.

Bryanna Weiskircher dished out 31 assists, while tallying four digs, two aces, and a kill. She led the team to a cumulative team hitting percentage of .307 with 42 kills.

Defensively, Kendall White scooped up 13 digs, adding and ace and an assist, while at the net, Tori Gorrell led the way with four blocks. Gorrell also added four kills and a career-high two service aces. Freshman Kaitlyn Hord added three blocks and freshman Allyson Cathey added two.

The Nittany Lions will return to Rec Hall on Friday, August 31 for a 7:30 p.m. match against Temple for the Penn State Invitational.
