UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's golf team travels to Cincinnati, Ohio, to play in its first Bearcat Invitational Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 24-25. The field of 11 teams will play on the par-71, 7,150-yard Coldstream Country Club course, a premier venue which has served as the backdrop for USGA qualifiers as well as numerous open and amateur events.
Thirty-six holes of continuous play begins with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. ET Monday. Tee times will be assigned for Tuesday's third and final round.
The Nittany Lions are eager to get back to competition after severe weather resulting from Hurricane Florence forced the suspension of the first round, then cancellation of the remainder of VCU Janney Invitational in Richmond, Va., last week.
"Coldstream is widely regarded as one of the very best in the state of Ohio and we look forward to competing here this week," said Penn State men's golf head coach Greg Nye.
The lineup for the Bearcat Invitational features senior JD Hughes, junior Ryan Davis, seniors Charles Huntzinger and Ryan Dornes, and junior Alec Bard. Sophomore James McHugh will compete as an individual.
It has been more than a decade since the Nittany Lions last competed in Cincinnati, appearing in the Xavier Invitational three times in the early to mid-2000s.
Live scoring for the Bearcat Invitational is available here.
