COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 4 Penn State women's volleyball team fell, 3-1: 16-25, 25-20, 33-31, 25-23, at Ohio State on Sunday afternoon at St. John's Arena in Big Ten Conference action.
Penn State saw freshman Jonni Parker, graduate student Taylor Leath and redshirt senior Bryanna Weiskircher all recorded double-doubles.
Leath led the Nittany Lions with a season-high 16 kills, adding another season-best with 13 digs. She also added three blocks and an assist.
Parker, who returned to her home state, recorded her first career double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs, adding two blocks.
Weiskircher dished out 49 assists, adding 16 digs and a block.
Freshman Allyson Cathey recorded a new career-best with 15 kills, adding three blocks and two digs to her stat line.
Fellow freshman Kaitlyn Hord was the fourth Nittany Lion in double figures as she tallied 10 kills on a team high .364 hitting percentage. She added five blocks. Her fellow freshman middle Serena Gray added five kills and a team-high six blocks.
Defensively, Penn State scooped up 70 digs as a team, led by a match-high 17 from junior libero Kendall White.
Ohio State out-point scored Penn State, 71.0-69.0, and tallied 13.0 team blocks to PSU's 11.0.
