No. 9 Women's Volleyball Takes Down Ohio State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 9 Penn State women's volleyball team got their revenge on Ohio State on Saturday evening, finishing the season series at 1-1, and moving to 13-3, 4-2 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of the Buckeyes, 25-13, 25-22, 25-22 in Rec Hall.

The Nittany Lions, who fell to Ohio State back on Sept. 23, 3-1, played with a chip on their shoulder and came out firing. The Nittany Lions put down 42 kills in three sets on a .370 clip. They also dished out eight aces.

Redshirt senior Nia Reed led the match with a tied career-high 15 kills, hitting .500. She added one dig on the evening.

Graduate student Taylor Leath followed with nine kills on .389 clips, and she added four digs, two blocks and an ace.

Freshman middle blocker Kaitlyn Hord added seven kills, while hitting .385. She added two blocks and a dig on the evening.

Redshirt senior Bryanna Weiskicher dished out 34 assists, adding six digs, an ace and a block.

Freshman defensive specialist Jenna Hampton dished out a career-high four aces, and added her first career kills.

Penn State returns to action on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 p.m. on ESPNU as they head to West Lafayette, Indiana for a Big Ten match-up with Purdue.
