POSTGAME QUOTES: Wisconsin Student Athletes - Nov. 10

Wisconsin Football
Student-Athlete Postgame Press Conference
vs. Penn State – November 10, 2018
Jack Coan | QB | So./So.

Q: Jack what do you think was the toughest challenge today getting something going through the air?
A: Just that they had a great defense. A lot of good d-backs, linebackers, d-line, they were all great athletes and they were all getting after us.

Q: Up at this level, when things aren't going well how much of a challenge is it for you to stay in it and keep the team up like that?
A: I always feel like I'm into the game, I feel like I never really get down or anything like that. I just try to keep fighting with the team and keep trying to make plays.

Q: Paul [Chryst] said that they thought you got pressured early, did you feel that pressure early?
A: I mean obviously yeah, I had a bunch of sacks, but I have to make some more plays and I need to move around a facilitate.

Beau Benzschawel | OL | Sr./Sr.
Q: There were a lot of false starts today out there today from you guys, what was the reason for that?
A: It was the noise factor. We were doing a silent count because we're used to a rhythm and we didn't have that rhythm for a bit, so that's where we were off.

Q: There's a lot of experience on the offensive line as you know, are you kind of surprised with what happened today across the board on the line?
A: I don't know about surprised. Obviously it hurts and you don't want it to happen, but I wouldn't say I was surprised by it.

Q: How do you feel right now about the way the game went with starting so strongly, you were up 7-0 to not being able to do much offensively the rest of the day.
A: Obviously they made changes so we have to make changes to combat those, but at the end of the day its us doing our jobs and seeing things, getting things done because when they bring those pressures like that. It's one way you can beat them if you see them and get everybody on the same page.

Zach Baun | OLB | Sr./Jr.

Q: How difficult is it to see your goals slip further away as far as the Big Ten Title with your third loss in five weeks now, is that difficult to swallow?
A: Any time you lose it's hard to swallow because we work so hard and we train every day. We're up in the morning every day working hours and hours on end. When you lose it hurts and it's supposed to sting and I hope it stings for everyone else.

Q: Is it going to be really difficult if you are out of contention in the West to get up for these last two games and stay motivated?
A: Well, we just let the losses motivate us and let it be the flame under our butts. We just need to keep moving forward and we can't settle at any point.

Rachad Wildgoose | CB | Fr./Fr.
Q: How do you think you guys played defensively today?
A: Defensively, I think we played alright. We could have been better on the runs and we could have stopped a bunch of third downs, but we are going to continue to work.

Q: Is that the difference between a smart play here and there and catching some momentum, was that a factor?
A: We were trying to get it all game, but credit to Penn State, they weren't really trying to pass it, they were running it so we tried to stop it, but it wasn't enough.

Q: They kind of spread you out and force you to stay in the nickel and then they ran the ball a lot, is it difficult to find that fit?
A: Kind of because we have less d-lineman on the field and an extra DB so it is kind of difficult to find that fit.
