- Tuesday night's win vs. No. 13 Virginia Tech marks the Nittany Lions' first home win against a ranked non-conference opponent since Penn State defeated #10 Temple 65-64 on Dec 1, 1998.
- Penn State has won each of its last six games when wearing its black and pink jerseys which pay homage to the institution's original school colors.
- Coach Pat Chambers is now tied with Jerry Dunn with 117 wins, good for the sixth-most wins in Penn State history.

- Lamar Stevens' 14 points moved him into a tie with former Nittany Lion teammate Tony Carr on the Penn State career scoring list at No. 23 with 1,161 career points. Stevens also added eight rebounds and three assists, both Penn State team highs tonight.
- Rasir Bolton contributed 11 points along with three rebounds and an assist. This marks Bolton's fourth game this season scoring in double digits.
- Mike Watkins was a jolt of energy coming off the bench in his 2018-19 debut. Watkins recorded two blocks, three steals, and seven rebounds.
- Myreon Jones had a career-high 18 points on 7-11 shooting coming off the bench, which led the team on the night.
