- The Nittany Lions opened the game with energy, ripping off an 8-0 run sparked by two Myles Dread 3-point field goals.
- Penn State went on a 12-2 run, which included no FGs for Iowa, in the last 4:45 minutes of the first half to tie its season high for first-half points with 45 (Wright State).
- Penn State recorded five blocks and six steals which helped it get out on the fast break where the Nittany Lions scored 19 points compared to the Hawkeyes 10.
- The Nittany Lions recorded a season-high 23 assists on 30 baskets besting their previous season high of 17 which came in the season opener against North Florida.
- This marks the third consecutive game that the Nittany Lions had four players score in double-digits.
- Penn State shot 12-35 from three-point range which marked their season high for both made 3-point field goals (12) and attempted 3-point field goals (35). Almost half, 44%, of Penn State's total points came off of 3-point field goals.
- This marks the second time this season in which Penn State had six different players make a 3-point shot.

Nittany Lions Individual Notes
- Josh Reaves recorded four steals which tied him with Titus Ivory for third most steals in school history and ninth most in Big Ten history with 218. Reaves scored 16 points, recorded 7 assists and grabbed a rebound as well.
- Mike Watkins posted his 24th career double-double with his 11-point, 11-rebound performance. Watkins is now tied with Jarrett Stephens and Mike Lang for the third-most double-doubles in Penn State history. Watkins was also the anchor of the defense recording four blocks and two steals.
- Lamar Stevens passed Freddie Barnes for 14th on the Penn State's career scoring list with 1,348 career points.
- Myles Dread set his Big Ten career highs in points scored with 14 and 3-point field goals made with four. Dread tied his Big Ten career high for 3-point field goals (3) made in a game just 2:16 into the first period of play.
- Rasir Bolton set his Big Ten career high for both free throws made and attempted with five. Bolton also contributed 16 points, two assists and one rebound.
- Jamari Wheeler set a career high with seven assists while also setting a Big Ten career high for points scored with five. Wheeler also grabbed four rebounds.
- Kyle McCloskey recorded his first career 3-point field goal which also set his career high for points with three.
