- For Coach Patrick Chambers, it was his 122th win at Penn State which puts him in a tie with John Bach for No. 5 on the Nittany Lion coaching wins list.
- Three Nittany Lions lead the Big Ten in individual statistics categories coming into this game: Josh Reaves (steals, 61), Rasir Bolton (FT%, 89.6), and Lamar Stevens (minutes played per game, 36.4).
- The last seven games in the BJC between these Michigan and Penn State have all been decided by single digits.
- The 75 points surrendered by Michigan was the most the Wolverines have allowed in Big Ten play in 2018-19 and the most since their win over South Carolina on Dec. 8, 2018.

- The Nittany Lions opened the game with a 10-7 lead courtesy of two 3FGs from Myles Dread. Dread had five of the Nittany Lions' six treys.
- Penn State took care of the basketball in the first half with only three turnovers.
- The Nittany Lions' 13-point lead at the end of the first half was their largest halftime lead against a Big Ten opponent this season.
- Penn State led Michigan for 36:45 and trailed only 5-2 and 5-4, last at the 18:27 mark of the first half.
- Tuesday's victory is Penn State's second victory against a ranked team this season, both coming at home. The Nittany Lions defeated a then-13th ranked Virginia Tech team on Nov. 27, 2018 in the Bryce Jordan Center. The last time they beat two ranked teams at home in a single season was in the 2016-17 season; Jan 14, 2017 vs. No. 24 Minnesota and Feb. 7, 2017 vs. No. 21 Maryland. Penn State topped three ranked teams in 2017-18, one at home, one on the road and one at a neutral site.

Nittany Lions Individual Notes
- Lamar Stevens reached 600 career rebounds in the first half, finishing with 12 rebounds for the game, tying a career high. He also recorded his eighth double-double of the season scoring 26 points and his 28th career game with 20 points or more. This game gave him his 10th career double-double.
- Mike Watkins passed Gyasi Cline-Heard for 14th all-time on Penn State's career rebounds list after pulling in seven rebounds this game furthering his career total to 676.
- Myles Dread set his Big Ten career highs in points scored with 17 points on 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. He also tied his career high with five 3FGs.
- Dread now has 55 3-point FG for the year which leads the team and is the fourth-highest total by a Penn State freshman.
